Who we are

This site is run by Tattoo Shed LTD, registered in England and Wales, company number 07569886, at 55 Belswains Lane, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire HP3 9PP. For anything on this page, email tattooshed@gmail.com or ring 07925 225122.

What this site collects

There are no accounts, no forms and no newsletter. There is nothing on this site you can type into, so we do not collect your name, your email address or anything else you would have to hand over. The only conversion on the site is a phone call, and a phone call is not this website.

Three things do happen, and you should know about all three.

Server logs

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like every web server, theirs records the page requested, the time, your IP address and your browser's user-agent string. We use this only to keep the site running and to spot abuse. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests — a website that nobody can operate or defend is not much use to anyone. Vercel holds these logs on our behalf as our processor.

One item stored in your browser

The site stores a single value, ts-intro, in your browser’s session storage. It records nothing but the fact that you have already seen the opening animation, so that it does not play again on every page. It contains no identifier, it is never sent to us or to anyone else, and it disappears the moment you close the tab.

This site sets no cookies at all, which is why there is no cookie banner. We are not being clever about it; there is simply nothing to consent to.

Visitor numbers

We use Vercel Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they read. It is cookieless and reports in aggregate — we can see that a page was viewed two hundred times, not who viewed it. It does not follow you to other websites and it is not used for advertising.

Fonts, and what is not here

The typefaces are served from our own domain rather than from Google, so loading this site does not tell Google anything about you. There are no advertising pixels, no session recorders, no heatmaps, no chat widgets, no embedded videos and no third-party scripts of any kind.

Instagram

The home page can show our latest Instagram posts. When it does, the images themselves come from Meta’s servers, which means Meta can see your IP address and that you loaded them — the same as if you had opened Instagram. That is Meta’s processing, under their own privacy policy, and we have no access to it. Following any link to Instagram or Facebook takes you onto their platform and out of the scope of this policy.

Who else sees anything

• Vercel — hosting and analytics, as our processor.
• Upstash — holds one access token so the Instagram feed keeps working. It contains no visitor data whatsoever.
• Meta — only if the Instagram images load, as above.

We do not sell anything to anyone, we do not share data for advertising, and there is no profiling or automated decision-making on this site.

How long anything is kept

Server logs are kept for a short period by our host and then rotate away. Analytics figures are aggregate counts, not records about you. The session storage value lasts until you close the tab.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how it is used, and to have it ported elsewhere. Email us and we will answer within one month.

In practice there is very little to give you, because this site holds almost nothing about you in the first place. If you are not happy with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

This site is information about a tattoo and piercing studio. It is not aimed at children and collects nothing from anyone. Our age limits for piercing are on the piercing page.

Changes

If we add anything that changes the picture — a booking form, a different analytics tool — we will update this page and change the date at the top before it goes live, not afterwards.
